Ok, back from New Mexico,USA holiday now so I will continue with "America the Beautiful" story.
1964 -1980
So we came back to Redwood City, California and would remain there for the next 15 years.
Redwood City, California....best wheather by government test! Yah, thats what they used to advertise in those days. I believe it too! Nice place, not too hot and not too cold.
If you get tired of the ocean you can drive 2-3 hours east to the snow country.

Eichler Homes

Modernism Rebuilds the American Dream
(about Joseph Eichler)
By Paul Adamson & Marty Arbunich
Publisher: Gibbs Smith
"Joseph Eichler was a pioneering developer of residential suburbs whose socially conscious ethic, progressive planning, and elegant modern design for moderately priced housing in California still serves as a standard for housing developments today.
Defying conventional building industry wisdom by hiring a group of progressive architects to plan subdivisions and design reasonably priced homes, Eichler provided more than 11,000 residences that helped meet the dramatic need for post-World War II housing with extraordinary commodity and style".

HOMES, I think California has always been about homes. California, still cranking out the coolest homes in America. The Eichler, one of the coolest.
Try and buy an Eichler nowadays and see! Eichler homes are a cult, have protection groups to make sure they are not rennovated so as to take away any of the asthetics.
When i was living there in Silicone Valley Eichlers weren't that popular in fact I would never buy one and I bought and sold many homes in the bay area. They weren't popular becos of the flat roof construction that lead to lots of leaks when it rained but look what happend just a few years later!

Cool Yah?
One of Eichler's funkiest layouts

Thanks for the comment on my blog. Hope you have a good time in Indonesia. If you get the time definetly go to Lombok coz its beautiful. Also dont be put off Bali by my experiences, it is still an amazing place and apparently the north of the island is fantastic and not at all developed. Have a good time.
Hope you've enjoyed your trip to Mexico...
